The PPH pilot program btween China and Germany based on the agreement of  "Joint Statement on the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) by State Intellectual Property Office of China and the German Patent and Trademark Office” was started on January 23, 2012 and ended on the January 22, 2014.

As the PPH pilot program ran smoothly with beneficial effect, the State Intellectual Property Office of China and the German Patent and Trademark Office jointly decided that the PPH pilot program will be extended for two years, starting from on January 23, 2014 and lasting till January 22 2016.

The requirement and procedures for PPH requests remain unchanged.
